Michael Woodruff - Founder

Michael began his career in public accounting more than 20 years ago at a Big 6 firm performing audits for large public registrants and privately held entities. He spent a brief period in internal audit for a Fortune 500 Company before beginning his focus on the middle market. With the ability to bring big company ideas to smaller, usually owner-managed businesses, he was able to provide insight to his clients that was appropriately scaled to their needs. It is this focused approach that honed Michael’s service philosophy to always bring the best and brightest ideas to clients and tailor them to their needs, no matter their size.

Michael is an avid college football fan, and he will often be found in the stands of his alma mater, Texas Christian University, on Saturdays in the fall. He and his wife, Susan, have three children that also keep them busy. He will gladly give you his mobile number, where you shouldn’t be surprised if you find yourself talking to him while he waits for one of his kids at practice.

Susan Woodruff - Founder

Susan began her career with Centex Homes, where, after 18 years as the controller of Centex’s Builders Supply, she found herself closing down their shop after their acquisition by Pulte. Since then and prior to joining Millner|Woodruff, she spent 8 years in the Technical Accounting group of Thomson Reuters, who produces much of the research and guidance for the public accounting industry. Susan’s client service role includes both large and small entities and is focused on timely, quality deliverables to clients. Susan’s philosophy is to partner with small businesses so that owners can focus on what they do best - growing their business!

Susan and her husband, Michael, can often be found cheering on their younger two kids at soccer and dance and their beloved Horned Frogs at Texas Christian University. Their oldest son is following the family footsteps, working on an accounting degree at TCU.

Joy Ashman - Director of Administration

Joy serves the firm as the Director of Administration. She provides monitoring of the firm’s policies and procedures and is the point of final quality control for all firm reporting. Her responsibilities include daily operational management and accounting for the firm. Prior to joining Millner|Woodruff, Joy performed similar roles in a variety of industries. Her knowledge of these other industries allows us to have access to best practices that are appropriate for the smooth operation of the firm.

Joy, her husband, and two sons are Texas A&M fans, enjoy a variety of concerts together, and love traveling to see family. Joy can always be counted on to know what is going on in the community. If she hasn’t heard about it, it didn’t happen.

MillnerWoodruff-Sunni.jpg

Sunni Stephenson - Lead Bookkeeper

Sunni is our lead bookkeeper who is fueled by the idea that details, patterns & consistency make a big difference. She started her career in the business world as an Office Manager for a stainless steel company in Dallas and later joined a Coppell CPA firm as an account manager. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Texas Woman’s University. She’s passionate about helping her clients find a process or system that works best for their company and being the accounting support they need to thrive.

In her spare time, you can find her OM’ing in a hot vinyasa yoga class, volunteering/serving at her church in Grapevine, rock climbing or playing with her Boxer (and fur baby).

Tyler Mouton - Tax & Audit

Tyler began his career in accounting at Millner|Woodruff CPAs, as an intern while finishing up school. Once graduated from Ouachita Baptist University (OBU) with a double major in accounting and sports management, he began working as a full time employee at the firm. Tyler is currently working towards completing his CPA exam requirements, and continues to grow as he keeps up to date in the fields of tax preparation and auditing. His responsibilities include tax return preparation and engaging in audits the firm performs.

Tyler and his wife, Alexa, both graduated from OBU, enjoy being active outdoors no matter what the activity may be, spending time with family, and love being with their German Shepard, Beckham. Tyler was a four year collegiate soccer player at OBU, earning both academic and athletic honors, including being named a 2016 Division II All-American. Any time of the year, you can find him and his wife to be active in local sports leagues such as volleyball, kickball, soccer, and more.

MillnerWoodruff-Emily-Square.jpg

Emily Harville - Bookkeeper

Emily brings to the firm a strong background in teaching and leadership. Her previous employer was a large government project where she managed a team responsible for providing assistance to veterans. She has a dual degree in Geography and Biology from Keene State College (home of the fighting owls!) in New Hampshire. Emily takes pride in providing quality service to her clients and has been taking additional classes in accounting to help ensure the clients are getting her best!

Although not raised in Texas (she’s a military “brat”), Emily always knew Texas would be her home. She finally moved here in 2007 with her 3 sons. She enjoys spending time in the kitchen - cooking and baking. Her cupcakes have won awards and started heated bidding wars at dessert auctions. When she’s not feeding people, Emily can often be found serving her church, cheering on the local high school marching band, or enjoying a quiet evening with her friends.
